Reftinsky

Reftinski (Russian Рефтинский ) is an urban-type settlement in Sverdlovsk Oblast (Russia) with 16,496 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The settlement is located in the eastern foothills of the Middle Urals, some 70 kilometers (direct distance ) north-east of Oblasthauptstadt Yekaterinburg on the right bank of the same reservoir, to the here, the left Pyshma Creek Reft or its source rivers Bolshoi and Maly Reft ( Great and Little Reft ) have been dammed up.

Reftinski forms since 2004 a separate city county after it had previously been subject since its inception, the management of the 15 kilometers southwest town of Asbestos.

History

Reftinski was created in 1963 in connection with the construction of the thermal power plant Reftinski ( Reftinskaja GRES ). First, in twelve kilometers away was the temporary construction worker settlement Opuschka.

On December 30, 1966, located at the present site was awarded under the settlement derived from the name of the river designation of the status of an urban-type settlement. In 1970, the first, 1980, the tenth and last power plant unit to operation.

Economy and infrastructure

City -forming enterprise is operated by OGK -5 thermal power plant Reftinskaja GRES. With an installed capacity of 3800 megawatts, it is the most powerful solid fuels - coal from the basin of Ekibastus in Kazakhstan - powered thermal power plant in Russia. One of the chimneys of the power station has a height of 330 meters.

Another important operation is the Opened in 1982 as the largest poultry farm of the Ural region Reftinskaja Ptizefabrika ( " Reftinsker poultry factory" ). The industrial area is located on the estate opposite, northern shore of the reservoir.

Reftinski is the end of a 14 -kilometer-long electrified railway line which branches off from the station Reft the eastbound route Nizhny Tagil and Serov of about Alapayevsk by Bogdanovich on the Trans -Siberian Railway. About these routes consists suburb train to Yekaterinburg. The direct link in a southwesterly direction to asbestos is interrupted by opencast or is used only for freight and traffic.

About asbestos is connected to the highway Ekaterinburg - Tyumen R351. In an easterly direction to the Sukhoi Log performs a dirt road.
