Zarechny, Sverdlovsk Oblast
Saretschny (Russian Заречный ) is a town in Sverdlovsk Oblast (Russia) with 26,820 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).
Geography
The city is located on the eastern edge of the Middle Urals, about 50 km east of the Oblasthauptstadt Yekaterinburg on the left bank of the dam here to Belojarskoje pent Pyshma, a right tributary of the Tura River in the system of the Ob.
Saretschny forms an urban district of the same name.
The town lies on the railway line opened in 1933 Beloyarsky ( station Baschenowo ) asbestos, a branch route of the Trans -Siberian Railway. The station near the town called Muranitny.
History
Saretschny arose in connection with the construction of the nuclear power plant Beloyarskaya, received in 1957 the status of an urban-type settlement and 1992 city law. The name derives from за рекой ( sa rekoi ), Russian for behind the river from.
