Mikhaylovsk, Sverdlovsk Oblast

Mikhailovsk (Russian Михайловск ) is a town in Sverdlovsk Oblast (Russia) with 9852 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located on the western flank of the Middle Urals, about 160 km southwest of Yekaterinburg Oblasthauptstadt at the mouth of Seryoga in Ufa in the river system of the Kama.

Mikhailovsk is part of Rajon Nischnije Sergi.

The city is located about 10 km west of the railway line which opened in 1916 Kalino ( at Tschussowoi ) - Kusino - Berdjausch, the former West -Ural Railway ( Западно - Уральская железная дорога / Sapadno - Ural schelesnaja doroga ). The station of the city is called Mikhailovsky Sawod and is connected to the city by a freight connection line.

History

Mikhailovsk arose in 1805 in connection with the establishment of ironworks Mikhailovsky Sawod by the Moscow merchant Mikhail Gubin. Here the Seryoga was dammed for the operation of the work. In 1961 the site of a town.

Russia is the largest manufacturer of aluminum foil and a paper factory are located in Mikhailovsk.
