Aramil
Aramil (Russian Арамиль ) is a town in Sverdlovsk Oblast (Russia) with 14,224 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).
Geography
The city is located on the eastern edge of the Middle Urals, about 25 km southeast of Oblasthauptstadt Yekaterinburg on the Iset, a left tributary of the Tobol river system of the Ob.
Aramil since 1995 has been the capital of a separate urban district.
The town lies on the railway line opened in 1933 Yekaterinburg - Kurgan ( station 5 km from the city center ) and at the eastern end of the 1977 taken in operating assets southern bypass path around Yekaterinburg. North of Aramil closest airport Ekaterinburg - Koltsovo.
History
Aramil was created in 1675 as a trading settlement ( Sloboda ) at the mouth of the river of the same name in the Iset. The name comes from the Tatar and means about river ( valley ) with lowland forests and meadows.
