Nové Bránice

Nové Bránice until 1947 Německé Bránice ( German German Branitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south-east of Ivančice and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Nové Bránice is located at the junction of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands to Thaya Schwarza Valley. The village is located on the right side of the Jihlava river on Mlýnský creek. To the north rises the Karlova hora (286 m ) in the east of Šibeniční vrch ( Gallows Hill, 296 m ) and southwest of the Kobyla ( 355 m).

Neighboring towns are Moravské Bránice and Silůvky in the north, Tikovice in the northeast, Dolni Kounice in the east, Pravlov and Trboušany the southeast, Jezeřany - Maršovic in the south, Stavení, Rakšice and Durdice the southwest, Rokytná and Budkovice in the west and Němčice, Alexovice and Ivančice in northwest.

History

According to one legend, after the battle of the Loděnice become unfit for further military service men and their families two settlements - have created the Castle Kounice became servants - on the Moravian side of the river Moravské Bránice and on the Austrian side Německé Bránice.

The first mention of the village was in 1276, when the Prämonstratenserinnenkloster Rosa Coeli Bránice his patroness Mačka, wife of William of Dürnholz left. When they died, in 1306 appropriated the monastery Želiv Bránice to including festivals, stately courtyard, chapel and mill as well as the forests and pastures. After the dissolution of the monastery in 1782 the estate fell to the religious fund. at this time was a one-class village school and a bell tower. 1790 lived 344 people in the 70 houses of the village. 1798 died with Father Octavian Prudký the last priest, who worked in Německé Bránice. 1808 Joseph bought Ditrichstein the estate for 46,000 guilders. After the abolition of patrimonial Německé Bránice / German Branitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Brno team. 1870 was built northwest of the village, the first built entirely of iron viaduct Austria -Hungary. 1895 inherited Therese of Dietrichsteins son Johann Joseph von Herbersteins the estate. In 1896 founded the volunteer fire department. In 1921, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Brno- venkov. In 1947, the renaming of the village of Nové Bránice was. Between 1948 and 1960, Nové Bránice belonged to Okres Rosice. After its cancellation Nové Bránice came back to Okres Brno- venkov. The old viaduct Ivančice was replaced in 1978 by a new parallel and largely canceled. Since 1997, the Nove Bránice leads a coat of arms and banners.
