Olší (Brno-Country District)

Olší ( German Olschi, formerly Olschy ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers northwest of Tišnov and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Olší is located at the junction of Bobravská Highlands for Czech-Moravian Highlands. South-east rises the Horka (541 m) and in the northwest the Kravi hora (611 m).

Neighboring towns are boron in the north, Sejrek in the northeast, Rakove in the east, in the southeast Klokočí, Kopaniny in the south, Drahonín the southwest, Moravecké Pavlovice in the west and Střítež, Jabloňov and Věžná in the northwest.

History

Olší was founded on February 12, 1285 by Demeter of Buková on the site of alder bush. He left there, the parish patron of the monastery Doubravník. Older the districts Klokočí and Rakove, which are detectable as part of the parish since 1235 Doubravníker. In the mid-14th century Olší ​​has been connected to the rule Meziříčí.
