Omkoi District
Amphoe Omkoi ( in Thai: อำเภอ อมก๋อย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the extreme southwest of the province of Chiang Mai. The Chiang Mai province is located in the northern region of Thailand.
Geography
Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise): Amphoe Hot and Doi Tao the Chiang Mai province, Sam Ngao, Mae Ramat, Tha Song Yang Tak Province and Sop Moei of Mae Hong Son province
History
Omkoi was on 19 April 1929 as sub-district ( King Amphoe ) and founded the Circle Hot was subordinate. He was at the time of the three tambon Omkoi, Yang Piang and Mae Tun On July 23, 1958 received Omkoi the full Amphoe status.
Management
The circle is divided into six subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 95 villages ( Muban ).
Omkoi has a small-town status ( thesaban tambon) and covers parts of the tambon Omkoi.
In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
