History

Dunajovice or Dunava was located about one kilometer south-west, and went out in the 15th century after a fire in the village and the subsequent outbreak of the plague. The new settlers were from German Opatov in East Bohemia. The inhabitants lived by farming, the soil of the place were profitable and the climate is mild.

After the abolition of patrimonial Otmarov formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Hustopeče. To mark the 100th anniversary of local residents erected a chapel in 1883. 1948, the community was associated with the Okres Židlochovice. After its cancellation Otmarov came in 1961 Okres Brno- venkov and has also been incorporated to Rajhradice. Since 1990, the community is Otmarov again.
