Pavel Porzhnev

Pavel Sergeyevich Porschnew (Russian Павел Сергеевич Поршнев; born August 3, 1983 in Kandalakscha ) is a Russian natural track luge. He also started in the recliner, but is particularly successful in doubles with his partner Ivan Lazarev. With three world titles, five European championship titles and three overall World Cup victories, they form one of the most successful doubles pairs.

Career

Porschnew started from 2001 in international junior championships and played in January 2002 Huttau and Železniki his first World Cup race. In single-seater he reached in these World Cup races only rankings to rank 30 and also in the doubles he could classify his partner Ivan Lazarev only in the final field. In the season 2002/2003 the doubles pair Porschnew / Lazarev succeeded in rising to the top. Also in the 2008/2009 season occupied Porschnew / Lazarev second place in the overall World Cup behind Pigneter / Clara.
