Porto Sant'Elpidio

Porto Sant'Elpidio is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 25 603 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the northwestern province of Fermo in the Marche region. Porto Sant'Elpido is a coastal town on the Adriatic. The municipality borders the province of Macerata.

North of the village flows the Chienti in the Adriatic Sea, south of Tenna.

Typical of the city are the numerous pine forest.

Sports

In addition to a football team and a basketball team, the city has become known as multiple stop on the Giro d' Italia. 1992 and 2012 ( Stage 6 ) it was the destination of a stage.

Traffic

Porto Sant'Elpidio Located on the Strada Statale 16, East of the town actually runs the Autostrada A14. Links to the railway from Ancona to Pescara is.
