Přibice

Přibice ( German Pribitz, formerly Priebitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers southeast of Pohořelice and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Přibice is located on a terrace on the left bank of the Jihlava in the Thaya - Schwarza Valley. South-east rises the Slaniskový Kopec (206 m). To the west of the pond Stary fishpond is located south of Vrkoč. To the south is the forest area Bedřichův les ( Fedrech ). On the northern outskirts of the village the railway line Vranovice - Pohořelice runs.

Neighboring towns are Smolín and Úlehla in the north, Žabčice and Přísnotice in the northeast, Vranovice in the east, Pouzdřany the southeast, Ivaň in the south, Hornoleský Dvůr Nová Ves and Vilémov the southwest, Mariánský Dvůr and Velky Dvůr in the west and Pohořelice in the northwest.

History

Archaeological finds indicate a settlement after since the Paleolithic. The oldest message on the Church of John the Baptist in Briwiz dates from the year 1222. 1257 the church by Bishop Bruno of castle was re-consecrated, it is assumed that they had gone down during the Tartar invasion. John of Luxembourg left the village in 1327 the Knights of St. John Brno. This built in 1332 in a Briwiz Coming. 1520 acquired Wilhelm II of Pernštejna the village of the Order and joined it to his rule Židlochovice; this was Pribitz subservient to the middle of the 19th century. The place had in the 16th century Protestant pastor. In Pribitz those Baptists settled, which maintained its own school. They were forced in 1622 to leave Moravia. After the outbreak of the Thirty Years' War fell in 1619 the imperial troops under Field Marshal of Dampierre in the village and ransacked it. A year later it was occupied by Polish troops. After the war Pribitz was largely desolate, of the 57 properties were only nine managed. The parish went out and the village was gepfarrt after Vranovice. Later it belonged to the parish Pohořelice. 1716 was the village from 44 economies. When provisional census of 1763 388 inhabitants are shown for Pribitz, in the resort lived 57 farming families. 1775 a Kuratgemeinde was established in Pribitz again.

After the abolition of patrimonial Priebitz / Pribice formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Auspitz and the jurisdiction Židlochovice. In 1895, the traffic began on the railway line Vranovice - Pohořelice. Between 1948 and 1960 the village belonged to Okres Židlochovice. After its cancellation Pribice was added to the Okres Břeclav. In 1961 the municipality with 1310 inhabitants, its highest population. In 1991 lived 1010 people in 302 houses of Pribice. Since 1 January 2007, the community is part of the Okres Brno- venkov. The community Pribice leads a coat of arms and banners.
