ŘÃÄky (Brno-Country District)
Ricky ( German Ritschka, also Rziczek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 19 kilometers west of the center of Brno and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.
Geography
Ricky is located in the highlands Bobravská on a hill between the valleys of the Bobrava and Říčanský creek. South-west rises the Kaličný (431 m) and in the south of Velky Okrouhlík (454 m). To the north- east lies the pond Bahňák. East of the village passes a road D1 / E 55 / E 65, the next exit 178 is Ostrovačice.
Neighboring towns are Javůrek in the north, Hvozdec in the northeast, Dolni Ricky and Veverské Knínice in the east, Říčany and Rosice the southeast, Zastávka and Marianske Údolí in the south, Chroustov and Pribram na Moravě in the southwest, Litostrov in the west and Rudka and Domašov in the northwest.
History
The origin of the municipality is located in what is now Dolni Ricky. The first written mention of the village was in 1358, when Mikes, called Šembera, his daughter Markéta new Huben in Ricky and 40 groschen overwrote as dowry. Later, a manor house and a mill was built. The owner of Ricky changed often, one of them among others Margrave Jobst of Moravia. When selling the reign Rossitz by Pertold Leipa to John the Elder of Zierotin Ricky 1522 listed under the related villages.
West of Ricky was born 1773-1777 on the road a Ausspannwirtschaft. In the years 1783-1787 the road connection from Brno to Jihlava was extended to the imperial road. The Ausspanne Horni Ricky were heavily frequented by carters and adjacent to the economy developed during the 19th century the village Horni Ricky. Its inhabitants lived initially on agriculture in the second half of the 19th century, many of them earned their living as miners in the coal mines of God's blessing.
After the abolition of patrimonial Ricky formed in 1850 a part of the community Rossitz in the Brno district. From 1910, Ricky was a district of Litostrov. 1921 was the community Ricky in Okres Brno- venkov. 1931 a chapel was built in Ricky. In 1948 the church was assigned to the Okres Rosice. After its cancellation in 1961 Ricky came back to Okres Brno- venkov and has also been incorporated to Domašov. Between 1974 and 1976, a new building of the town hall took place. Since 1990, Ricky is self again. The parish hall was rebuilt in 2004 /05.
