Genesis

After the release of the commercially unsuccessful previous album Ringo's Rotogravure Ringo Starr decided to modify the concept. Although he retained his producer Arif Mardin and co- composer Vini Poncia, but renounced the support of prominent friends so controlled only experienced studio musician and well-known backing singers for the musical accompaniment. In addition, should the album disco -oriented and hence sound contemporary to the late 1970s. This change of style was not accepted by buyers. The album was thus the hitherto commercially least successful of Ringo Starr. Atlantic Records in the U.S. decided after the failure of the album, to terminate the contract with Ringo Starr in the USA. The album's title indicates that Ringo Starr looked at his current studio album than his fourth, and contains the first two albums Sentimental Journey, the standards and beaucoups of Blues, the country music, did not count.

The recordings ranged from January to February 1977. Ringo Starr added with Vini Poncia six of the ten compositions at. For the remaining four songs were chosen among others, the Soul hit Drowning in the Sea of Love in 1972 by Joe Simon and Sneaking Sally Through the Alley, which was previously published in 1975 by Robert Palmer.

The designer of the cover was John Kosh. The cover photos were taken by Lew Hahn and his then-girlfriend Nancy Andrews.
