Ringo Starr and His All- Starr Band - third Volume 1 is the fifteenth album, or the third live album by Ringo Starr after the breakup of the Beatles. It was released on 12 August 1997 in the United States. In Germany and the UK, the album did not appear. It could not place in the charts in the U.S..

Genesis

After the appearance of the last live album Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band Volume 2: Live From Montreux in September 1993, Ringo Starr went again only in 1995 with his third All- Starr Band on tour in Japan. From 14 June to 28 June 1995, the All- Starr Band was there eleven concerts. On 27 June 1995, the Tokyo concert was recorded and released as a CD two years later by Blockbuster. It only 10,000 copies were produced, which were mainly sold in stores operated by blockbuster. The concert was recorded by Japanese television station NHK Television and broadcast on 23 August 1995 on Japanese television.

Between 2 July and 23 August 1995, a further U.S. tour followed with 42 concerts.

After the album's release the record deal in the U.S. was not renewed with blockbuster, so that a possible follow-up album with the possible title Ringo Starr and His All- Starr Band - third volume was 2 ( so far) not been published.

Six of the twelve songs on the CD were sung by Ringo Starr.
