Genesis

Ringo Starr had become acquainted with the pedal steel guitarist Pete Drake during the recording sessions for George Harrison's album All Things Must Pass. Ringo Starr knew that Drake had worked with Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan, and his goal was to record a country music album in London in a few days. Drake convinced Ringo Starr, also because of financial considerations, the planned recording sessions in Nashville (USA) to lay. Ringo Starr chose Pete Drake as producers, the composers of country music asked to compose songs for Ringo Starr's album one, still he organized the recording dates so that Ringo Starr was born on June 22, 1970 to Nashville, and on 1 July 1970 again flew back to England.

The selected accompanying musicians were known in the U.S. country music; Moreover, the drummer DJ Fontana Elvis Presley and his former backing singers The Jordanaires was there; the former guitarist of Elvis Presley, Scotty Moore, acted in this album as a sound engineer. The recordings took place until June 27, 1970 25. Ringo Starr himself contributed only a composition Coochy Coochy. This song was published in abridged form as the B - side of the single beaucoups of Blues, the previously unreleased original version is for 28 minutes. Two more titles were recorded: Nashville Jam was released in 1995 also reduced (as well Coochy Coochy ) on the CD version. Another song The Wishing Book has not yet been officially released but only on bootlegs.
