Time Takes Time is the thirteenth album, or the tenth studio album by Ringo Starr after the breakup of the Beatles. It was on 29 June 1992 in the UK (USA: May 22, 1992) published. In the U.S., the UK and Germany could not place in the charts themselves.

Genesis

After the release of his last album Ringo Starr and His All- Starr Band in October 1990, appeared in November 1991 on the soundtrack album of the movie Curly Sue the new Ringo Starr song You Never Know, which was released in the U.S. as a CD Promotion Single. This song came from the recordings of Ringo Starr's new studio album Time Takes Time, his first since Old Wave, released in June 1983.

The concept of production was taken over by the album Stop and Smell the Roses, as again several producers were hired for the album.

In February 1991, Ringo Starr signed a new record deal with the label Private Music, which is essentially the genre New Age sells. The contract with Private Music was limited to one album to date.

The first recordings for the album began in May 1991 in Rumbo Recorders Recording Studios and Ocean Way Studios in Los Angeles, where the songs Do not Go Where the Road Do not Go, After All These Years, Do not Be Cruel (only on the CD- single released ) and the previously unreleased song Call Me were recorded. Producer of these recordings was Jeff Lynne, of the Beatles song I Call Your Name already produced in 1990 for Ringo Starr, the only in April 1991 on the video cassette The World's Greatest Artists Sing Lennon: A Tribute was published.

In June 1991, Phil Ramone produced at Capitol Studios and the Andora Studios in Los Angeles, the songs All in the Name of Love, Runaways and the previously unreleased song Love Is Gonna Get Ya.

In September 1991, followed in the Conway Studios (Los Angeles ) with producer Don Was, the recordings of the songs Weight of the World, and Do not Know a Thing About Love, the song I Do not Believe You were in January and February 1992 then, In a Heartbeat, and What Goes Around added.

Produced also in September 1991 Peter Asher at Conway Studios, The Hop and Studio F in Los Angeles following songs: Golden Blunders, Everybody Wins (published only on CD single in Germany ) as well as Paul McCartney composing Angel in Disguise, hitherto remained unpublished.

Some of the album's songs remind in parts to the music of the Beatles mid-1960s, and thus differ significantly from the previous albums.

Despite extensive promotion work of Ringo Starr, the commercial success of the album never materialized.

The designer of the cover was Mark Ryden and Kurt De Munbrun. The cover photos were taken by Kantanzaro & Mahdessian.
