Rosi Mittermaier

Rosemarie ( " Rosi" ) Mittermaier - Neureuther, born Mittermaierstrasse (* August 5, 1950 in Reit im Winkl, Bavaria ) is a German former alpine skier.

Sporting career

At the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1976, she won a medal at all three alpine skiing competitions: Two gold medals in the downhill and slalom and a silver medal in the giant slalom. In the same year she became world champion in the Alpine combined and overall World Cup winner. Since then it is known as Gold - Rosi. The journalists selected the 14-time German champion sportswoman of the year 1976, the International Association of Ski Journalists drew them in the same year with the Skieur d'Or.

Private and Awards

Rosi Mittermeier is married to the former ski racer Christian Neureuther since 1980. They have two adult children, Felix and Ameli Neureuther. She is the sister of ski racers Heidi Mittermeier and Mittermeier Evi. In 1974, she received the Silver, 1976 Golden Bravo Otto the German youth magazine BRAVO. 1997 Rosi Mittermeier - Neureuther was appointed by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, in consultation with the sport to the first National Ambassador for Sport, Tolerance and Fair Play. From 2007 Rosi Mittermeier was honorary president of the organizing committee of the Alpine World Ski Championships 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen.
