Santo Stefano di Sessanio
Santo Stefano di Sessanio is a municipality with 115 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the province of L' Aquila in the Abruzzo region of Italy. It is located 27 km east of L' Aquila and 144 km north-east of Rome.
Geography
Santo Stefano di Sessanio is above the valley of the Aterno below the Campo Imperatore in the Abruzzo region. With an altitude of 1250 m it is one of the highest places in Italy. The municipality is part of the National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga. Santo Stefano di Sessanio was included in the list of the most beautiful villages in Italy. It is a member of the Comunità Montana Campo Imperatore - Piana di Navelli.
The nearby towns are Barisciano, Calascio, Carapelle Calvisio, Castel Calvisio, Isola del Gran Sasso d' Italia (TE ), L' Aquila.
