Skalička (Brno-Country District)

Skalička ( German Skalitschka, formerly Skalitzka ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers east of Tišnov and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Skalička is located on the left bank of the river Lubě at the confluence of Lažánka and Uninsky creek in the Bosko brázda. To the north rises the Hluboké ( 391 m), in the northeast of the Na Dílech (400 m ) east of the Společná hora ( 429 m), in the south of the Paní hora (395 m) and northwest of the Čihadlo (453 m). To the north is located below the same ruin the deserted village Trmačov.

Neighboring towns are Hluboké Dvory in the north, Újezd ​​The Black Hory and Milonice in the northeast, Lažany in the east, in the southeast Lipůvka, Nuzířov and Malhostovice in the south, Drásov the southwest, Všechovice in the west and Hajánky, Hájek and Unín in the northwest.

History

The origins of the village date back to the 13th century, from this period are the oldest walls of Žandovský Mlýn. Skalička was first mentioned in writing in 1349. Onsite Hradisko was a stronghold since the 15th century, it was called from 1573 as desolate.

After the abolition of patrimonial Skalička formed in 1850 a part of the community Nuzířov in the District Commission Brno. 1887 Skalička became independent. Since November 1, 1896 Skalička belonged to the newly formed District Commission Tischnowitz. On 12 July 1922, the village was affected by a major flood of Lubě. During the German occupation was in 1944-1945 in the woods around Skalička one of the centers of the partisan movement in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. From Skalička acted from the requirement imposed by General Luža III. Czechoslovak shock Company. The villa Žandov next to the mill served several times as a place of conspiratorial meetings between partisans and other people of the resistance against the Nazis. After the dissolution of Okres Tišnov Skalička was amalgamated with the beginning of 1961 after Všechovice and at the same time associated with the Okres Brno- venkov. In 1971 the annexation was lifted.

  • Mill Žandovský Mlýn, which has existed since the 13th century building is the oldest building in the village
