Swimming at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay
The relay competition over 4 times the women 's 100m freestyle at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held on 28 July 2012 at the London Aquatics Centre. 16 squadrons with a total of 84 athletes took part.
There were two heats. The fastest eight squadrons heats qualified for the final, which was held on the same day.

After 2004 and 2008 it was the third time in a row that Australia, the Netherlands and the United States came to the podium. Natalie Coughlin, used in the flow and thus also awarded a medal along with their compatriots Dara Torres and Jenny Thompson, the swimmer with the most medals (12). Lia Neal is the first African-American swimmer in an Olympic final.
