Waeng Noi District
Amphoe Waeng Noi ( Thai: อำเภอ แวงน้อย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Khon Kaen. The Khon Kaen Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.
Geography
Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Waeng Yai and the Phon in the province of Khon Kaen, Amphoe Bua Lai who, Bua Yai and Kaeng Sanam Nang province of Nakhon Ratchasima, Amphoe Khon Sawan Province and Chaiyaphum.
History
Waeng Noi was born on June 1, 1971 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by six tambon were separated from Amphoe Phon. On August 21, 1975, he was promoted to Amphoe.
Administrative units
Amphoe Waeng Noi ( tambon) divided into six municipalities, which in turn in 73 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.
There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:
- Waeng Noi ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แวงน้อย ), consisting of parts of the tambon Waeng Noi,
- Kan Lueang ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ก้านเหลือง ), consisting of the whole tambon Kan Lueang.
There are also five administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
