World Doubles Championship
The World Doubles Championship was a professional snooker tournament.
They have been held annually since 1982; had, however, never held the status of a world ranking tournament. The special thing about the tournament was that teams á two players competed against each other, rather than individual players as with almost all other tournaments. So really, this variant did not sit through, however, so the tournament in 1987 disappeared from the calendar of Snooker Main Tour.
Venues were the Crystal Palace National Recreation Centre (1982) and the Derngate Centre, Northampton ( 1983-1987 ).
