Yana Klochkova

Jana Olexandriwna Klotschkowa (Ukrainian Яна Олександрівна Клочкова, scientific transliteration Jana Oleksandrivna Kločkova, english Yana Klochkova; born August 7, 1982 in Simferopol, Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Ukrainian swimmer.

Career

Klotschkowa lives in Kiev and since the late 1990s, one of the world's best -layer swimmers in the world. With the World Swimming Championships in 1998 in Perth, she won the silver medal in the 400 m medley and made the international swimming world for the first time attention. Since the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney she is the best swimmer on the location routes. In Sydney, she won two gold medals ( 400 m medley even in world record time ) and a silver medal. At the 2001 World Championships in Fukuoka, she was beaten only on the short location distance, but could the gold medal in the 400 m freestyle to add. In Barcelona 2003, she ruled in the World Cup again the layers completely. The 2004 Olympic Games in Athens should be another highlight of her career. Again she won the 200 m and 400 m medley gold medal.

After the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where they flag bearer of the Ukraine was at the opening on 8 August, she announced her departure as an active competitive athlete.
