Mick Mulvaney

John Michael " Mick " Mulvaney ( born July 21, 1967 in Alexandria, Virginia ) is an American politician. Since 2011 he represents the state of South Carolina in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Mick Mulvaney attended Charlotte Catholic High School in North Carolina and then studied until 1989 at Georgetown University in Washington DC the subjects International Economy, Trade and financial policies. After a subsequent law studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his 1992 was admitted to the bar he began to work in a large law firm in this profession. Later he went into the real estate business. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. Between 2007 and 2009 he was a member of the House of Representatives of South Carolina; 2009 to 2010 he was a member of the State Senate. There he sat in several committees, including the Judiciary Committee and the Committee for Labour, Trade and Industry.

In the congressional elections of 2010, Mulvaney was in the fifth constituency of South Carolina in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of him previously defeated Democrat John Spratt on January 3, 2011. In Congress, he is a member of the Budget Committee, the Committee on Small Business and the Joint Economic Committee and three subcommittees. Mulvaney also belongs to the Tea Party movement related Tea Party Caucus and the Republican Study Committee. His campaign in 2010 was reprimanded by the ethics association CREW. These accused him of violations of financial laws and false tax returns.

In the congressional elections in 2012 Mulvaney sat down with 56:44 percent of the vote against Democrat by Joyce Knott.

Mulvaney is verheiretet since 1998 and has three children who came as triplets.
