Morro Reatino

Morro Reatino is a municipality with 353 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the province of Rieti in the Italian region of Lazio.

Geography

Morro Reatino is located 63 km north of Rome and 20 km north of Rieti. It is situated in the Monti Reatini above the valley of the Velino.

The municipality consists of the villages Pacce, Cerqueto, Collatea, La Croce, La Scilga, Le Casette, Santarioli, San Valentino, Torricella and Valliola. The municipality covers an altitude difference of 418-1210 meters above sea level. Morro Reatino is a member of Mountain Community Monte Piano Reatino.

The municipality is located in the seismic zone 2 (medium endangered).

The neighboring municipalities are Arrone (TR ), Colli sul Velino, Labro, Polino (TR ), Rivodutri.

History

Morro Reatino was first mentioned in 1153 for the first time.
