Pozzaglia Sabina is a municipality with 383 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the province of Rieti in the Italian region of Lazio.

Geography

Pozzaglia is located 71 km northeast of Rome, 41 km south of Rieti, and 42 km northeast of Tivoli. It is located in the Sabine hills between the valleys of the Turano and Farfa. The municipality consists of the villages of Montorio in Valle, Pietraforte and Pratarioni. The municipality covers an altitude difference 526-1128 m slm

Pozzaglia Sabina is a member of the Comunità Montana dei Monti Sabini.

The municipality is located in the seismic zone 2 (medium endangered).

The neighboring municipalities are Ascrea, Castel di Tora, Colle di Tora, Collegiove, Orvinio, Paganico Sabino, Poggio Moiano, Scandriglia, Turania and Vivaro Romano (RM ).

Traffic

Pozzagliao Located on the Strada Stadale SS 314 Licinese connecting the Via Salaria SS 4 with the Via Tiburtina Valeria SS 5. The nearest motorway exit is Vicovaro on the A24 Autostrada dei Parchi in 28 km distance.

The nearest train station is in Arsoli on the railway line Rome - Avezzano, 22 km away.

Policy

Massimo Mulieri ( civil list) was elected in June 2009 for the mayor. He replaced Nazzareno Papili, who did not run.

Coat of arms

On a silver shield, a red brick water, on a rooster in natural colors. The tradition according to the local name of Pozzo Gallo ago which means to tap German Fountain passes. So it is a canting arms.
