Paganico Sabino

Paganico Sabino is a municipality with 178 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the province of Rieti in the Italian region of Lazio.

Geography

Paganico Sabino is located 79 km northeast of Rome and 38 km southeast of Rieti. It is located on Lake Turano in the valley of the Turano in the Sabine mountains.

The municipality covers an altitude difference of 536-1438 meters above sea level. Paganico Sabino is a member of the Comunità Montana del Turano.

The municipality is located in the seismic zone 2 (medium endangered).

The neighboring municipalities are Ascrea, Collegiove, Marcetelli, Pozzaglia Sabina and Varco Sabino.

Traffic

Paganico Sabino is located 18 km away from the motorway exit Carsoli on the A24 Autostrada dei Parchi.

The nearest train station is also located in Carsoli on the railway line Rome - Avezzano, 16 km away.

Archaeological finds that Paganico Sabino has been inhabited since the 3rd century BC.
