2013 Faroe Islands Premier League

The Faroese football championship in 2013 was the 71st season of the highest Faroese Football League. The league is officially Effodeildin after the main sponsor, the energy company Effo. It started on March 9, 2013, and ended on 26 October 2013.

The riser 07 Vestur and AB Argir returned after a or two years back in the top flight. Master was HB Tórshavn, which could thus win the title for the 22nd time. KÍ Klaksvík and ÍF Fuglafjørður started both as the only teams with two wins in the season. While HB and KÍ never got home to a draw, Víkingur Gøta was achieved with a 3-2 home victory over ÍF Fuglafjørður, the fourth victory in five games, the jump to the top. This they later had to cede to HB Tórshavn, with a 3-0 had the upper hand in the home stadium with a game. National Cup

In the National Cup Víkingur Gøta won 2-0 against EB / Streymur. Master HB Tórshavn was eliminated by EB / Streymur on penalties in the quarterfinals.

European Cup

2013/14 played EB / Streymur as a champion of last year in the first qualifying round of the Champions League against FC Lusitano (Andorra ) and sat down for a 2-2 draw with a 5-1 home victory in the second leg through. Against Dinamo Tbilisi ( Georgia) were lost in the next round both games with 1:6 and 1:3.

ÍF Fuglafjørður played in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League against Linfield FC ( Northern Ireland) and retired with 0:2 and 0:3 from.

HB Tórshavn also played in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League against ÍB Vestmannaeyja ( Iceland ). After a 1-1 draw in the away match HB lost at home 0-1 and thus also different from.

Víkingur Gøta played as cup winners of the previous year in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League against Inter Turku ( Finland).
