Aleš Kranjc

Aleš Kranjc (born 29 July 1981 in Jesenice, SR Slovenia) is a Slovenian ice hockey player who stands since 2012 at the Cologne Sharks of the German ice hockey league under contract.

Career

Aleš Kranjc learned to play hockey in his hometown at HK Jesenice, for whom he made ​​his debut in the Slovenian Hockey League announced in the 1997/98 season and in which he soon represented as an attacking defender a major fixture in the team. For over a decade he held his club loyalty and could at this time three times ( 2005, 2006 and 2008), winning the Slovenian championship. When the team was inducted into the Austrian Hockey League in 2006, Kranjc also included here for fixed occupation and soon established himself among the best defenders in the league.

For the season 2009/10 he first accepted the offer of another team and moved to the Austrian EBEL participants Vienna Capitals. For the season 2010/11 he moved again within the EBEL, where he received a contract with Alba Volán Székesfehérvár. For Hungary he scored three goals in 40 games and made 14 assists. He then took part in the Hungarian Alba Volánbusz Hockey League in which he at first with his team won the national championship in 2011. For the 2011/12 season he signed a contract with HC České Budějovice in the Czech Extraliga. In pre-season he also took part in the European Trophy with the team. In summer 2012 Kranjc initially signed a contract sample for the duration of the pre-season with the Cologne Sharks, which was renewed in September 2012 for the entire season.

He is considered very offensive set type of player, which can, however, identify a number of shortcomings in defense work.

Internationally

For Slovenia Kranjc took at junior level at the U18 Junior C Championship in 1998 and the U20 Junior C World Championships in 1999, 2000 and 2001 in part. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the B World Championships in 2000, 2004 and 2010 and at the World Championships A- 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2011.
