Antillo
Antillo is a municipality in the Province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, with 940 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012).
Location and data
Antillo is located 49 km southwest of Messina. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture. It produces nuts, olives and wine.
The neighboring municipalities are Casalvecchio Siculo, Castro Reale, Fondachelli - Fantina, Francavilla di Sicilia, Graniti, Limina, Mongiuffi Melia, Motta Camastra Roccafiorita and Rodì Milici.
History
Antillo is self-employed since 1846. Before that it was a community part of the community Savoca.
Attractions
On the territory of the municipality is the medieval village of Borgo Morzulli. In the village is an ancient foundry.
Events
In Antillo a special form of the Carnival is celebrated.
