Roccavaldina

Roccavaldina is a city in the province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, with 1151 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Roccavaldina located 36 km west of Messina. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture.

The neighboring municipalities are Monforte San Giorgio, Rometta, Spadafora, Torregrotta, Valdina and Venetico.

History

The town was founded in the Middle Ages. It was among other things a fief of the Valdina family. The exact founding year is unknown.
