Asturias (Cebu)
Asturias is a Philippine municipality in the province of Cebu.
Geography
It borders Tuburan to the north, Balamban in the south, to the city of Danao City in the east and to the Tanon Strait in the west.

History
The original name of Asturias was Naghalin derived from the cebuano lalin name, which translates as " settlers from distant places " means. The first settlers came from other communities and neighboring islands like Bohol. Originally belonged to a part Naghalins to Tuburan another part belonged to Balamban. Over time, the population grew, due to both immigration and due to natural population growth. Finally, the population targeted for a grant from the Spanish colonizers to grant its own local government. This request was granted the first decade of the 18th century by the Spanish king.
