Athletics at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's 10,000 metres

The 10,000 - meter race of men in the 2012 Olympics in London was held on 4 August 2012 at London's Olympic Stadium. 29 athletes took part.

The competition was carried out in a final run.

Mo Farah is the first British Olympic champion at this distance, and since 1988 the first non- African medal winners. Defending champion Kenenisa Bekele only reached 4th place, one place behind his brother Tariku. Farah and the second-placed Americans Galen Rupp are training partners and be coached by Alberto Salazar.
