Avusy

Avusy is a municipality in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland.

The municipality consists of the villages Avusy -Village, Athenaz, Sézegnin and the hamlet Champ Long.

History

The village is mentioned as 1260 Avussie. While Geneva was awarded in the Treaty of Paris 174 Chancy and Avully and 1754 in Turin contract Cartigny, the standing formerly under the House of Savoy rule Avusy came in the latter contract to the Kingdom of Sardinia. 1816 came Avusy as a community Avusy - Laconnex - Soral finally to the Canton of Geneva. 1847 Avusy became independent.
