Bassanne

Bassanne is a commune with 95 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Gironde department in Aquitaine in the region; it belongs to the administrative district in the canton of Langon and Auros.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 50 kilometers south-east of Bordeaux, borders the following municipalities:

  • Floudès in the Northeast,
  • Puybarban in the east,
  • Pondaurat in the south,
  • Castillon -de- Castets in the southwest and
  • Barie in the northwest.

The municipal area is ( German: Canal de Garonne ) from the eponymous river Bassanne and the shipping canal Lateral Canal à la Garonne crosses.
