Behrensdorf

Behrens village (Baltic Sea) is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig- Holstein

Geography

Behrens village lies on the Hohwachter bay, about six kilometers north of the small town Luetjenburg, five kilometers north-west of the Baltic Sea resort of Hohwacht and almost thirty kilometers east of the state capital Kiel.

The municipality is framed by the little lake, the Great lake, the neighboring community Panker and the Baltic Sea in the north.

History

1433 Behrens village was first mentioned. The name of the village probably derives from the village of Bernhard or Bernward. On the territory of the municipality there are grave hills and ramparts, which are temporally determined not accurate.
