Blekendorf

Blekendorf is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig- Holstein. The municipality comprises the villages Blekendorf, Friederike Thal, Futterkamp, Kaköhl, Nessendorf, Rathlau, Sechendorf and Sehlendorf. In Sehlendorf there are landscape and nature conservation areas.

Geography and transport

Blekendorf is located on the main road 202 about 4 kilometers east of Luetjenburg.

History

Blekendorf was first mentioned in 1259 as Blegkendorpe. The name probably comes from the Middle Low German and means -sighted or shiny village.
