Stakendorf

Stakendorf is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography and transport

Stakendorf is located on the Baltic Sea, 4 km east of Schönberg ( Holstein). A portion of Stakendorf is Schönberger beach and from there it is around 2 km from the town center. Stakendorf living from agriculture and tourism. There are also several, mostly small businesses, such as a metal worker, house and garden service, bakery and the nationally known foot and deposit service. Stakendorf has about 450 inhabitants and can be described as small, clean village. History

Stakendorf was first mentioned in documents in 1286.

Peter Plett lived from 1808 to 1823 as a village teacher in Stakendorf. He had in 1791 as a private tutor on Hasselburg, Good Wittenberg, in East Holstein, the cowpox performed before the English physician Edward Jenner did the same in 1796 and became world famous for it.
