Dannau

Dannau is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig- Holstein. The area boasts some of the yard cock and the mountain districts Grell Kamp, Kamp barley, New Wetterade, geese pitcher Timmrade, Luxrade, Gowen and Dannau.

A memorial to the fallen of the First World War, which was built in 1920 on a passage grave, is the landmark of the community.

Geography and transport

Dannau is named after him on Dannauer lake near the national highway 430 between Luetjenburg and Plön. The lake and its surroundings have been a nature reserve and part of the Natura 2000.

History

1928 was the community Dannau from the merger of the villages Dannau and Gowen. 1286 Dannau is first mentioned in 1358 Gowen. The origins of the settlement are probably Slavic.
