Chêne -Bourg is a municipality in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland.

Geography

The community is located south of Lake Geneva and on the left bank of the Seymaz. The municipal area is enclosed by Thônex east, west, on the opposite bank of the Seymaz is Conches.

History

The hamlet Chêne 1270 is mentioned as Quercus. By the Treaty of Turin in 1754 was Chêne-Bourg part of Chêne (now Conches ). Then the left bank went to Savoy, while the right bank of the Canton of Geneva remained and the town was divided into two parts with it. The community came together with Thônex, whose part she had become, in 1792 France and 1816 finally back to the Canton of Geneva. 1869 Chêne -Bourg was an independent community after the separation of Thônex.
