Dipignano

Dipignano is an Italian town in the province of Cosenza in Calabria with 4475 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Dipignano situated about 12 km south of Cosenza in the valley of Crati. The neighboring municipalities are Carolei, Cosenza, Domanico, Cerisano, Mendicino and Paterno Calabro.

The town was founded in the Middle Ages by refugees from Cosenza. The place is known for its copper processing.

Attractions

The place is the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. The church dates from the 15th century has changed since then. Receive is still the portal and part of the apse. Inside is a marble statue of the Madonna delle Grazie from the 17th century.
