Saracena
Saracen is an Italian town in the province of Cosenza in Calabria with 3908 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).
Location and data
Saracen is located about 69 km north of Cosenza in the upper reaches of the river Garga. The neighboring municipalities are Altomonte, Castrovillari, Firmo, Lungro, Morano Calabro, Mormanno, Orsomarso and San Basile.
Attractions
The place is a ruin of a castle from the 13th century. The parish church dates from the 13th century, including towers. In the church of S. Maria del Gamio is a Baroque panel and there is a wooden ceiling from the 17th century.
