Dombrot-le-Sec
Dombrot -le- Sec is a commune in the Vosges department of the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Neufchâteau, the Canton of Vittel and founded in 2004, Local Government Association, Pays de la Saône Vosgienne.
Geography
The 383 inhabitants (1 January 2011 ) scoring community Dombrot -le -Sec is located a few kilometers south of the resorts of Vittel and Contrexévillenear in the southwest of Lorraine.
The almost 19 km ² large municipality of Dombrot -le -Sec extends in the region of Monts Faucilles on the watershed of the river basins of the Meuse and the Rhone. In the municipality of Vair, a 65 km long tributary of the upper Meuse rises. Approximately 400 acres of the southwestern municipality of the land area is forested.
About 14 kilometers north of Dombrot, also on the river Vair, is a municipality with the same name. To better distinguish the villages were in Dombrot -sur- Vair and Dombrot -le- Sec ( sec = dry) renamed.
Neighboring communities of Dombrot -le -Sec are Contrexévillenear in the north, Lignéville in the northeast, Viviers- le-Gras in the southeast, Gignéville, Marey and Serocourt in the south, Martigny -les- Bains in the southwest and Crainvilliers in the West.
History
Dombrot -le -Sec was 1711 dominion of Claude -Rene de Lignéville, the Countess of Monchat. From 1751 until the French Revolution Dombrot -le -Sec was part of the Bailiwick of Darney. The inhabitants belonged to the parish of Vittel.
