Facu Regalia

Facundo " Facu " Regalia ( born November 23, 1991, Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine- Spanish racing driver. He was second overall in the 2013 GP3 Series. 2014 he starts in the GP2 series.

Career

Regalia began his motorsport career in karting in 2006, where he remained active until 2007. In 2008 he moved to Formula racing and entered for Euro International in the European Formula BMW. While his team-mate Daniel Juncadella was fourth with wins, Regalia concluded his debut season starting on the 16th place overall. In 2009 he moved within the series to Josef Kaufmann Racing. Three fourth places were his best results and he was on the end of the season in eighth place, while his teammate Robin Frijns took third place. He also completed three guest appearances in the Formula BMW Pacific. He came twice on the first place finish. 2010 Regalia denied his third season in the Formula BMW Europe for Eifel Country Racing. With a second place, who was also his best result, he first achieved a podium placement. In the overall standings, he was again defeated eighth and again this season with Côme Ledogar his teammates.

2011 moved Regalia in the Italian Formula 3 Championship at Arco Motorsport. A second place was his best result of the season. With 55 points, he was at the end of the season in tenth place overall, while his teammate Edoardo Liberati had scored 115 points in fifth place. In addition, Regalia took part in a race weekend of the Formula 3 Euro Series as a guest starter for Mücke Motorsport. After the season, he completed Auto GP test drive for Campos Racing. He succeeded in the pole position time from last season to beat at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. For the 2012 Auto GP World Series season, he finally got a cockpit at Campos. After the first five events Regalia left the series. With a second place as best result he eventually finished in seventh place overall. He had, though he did not participate in all races, scored more points than his team mates together. In addition, Regalia went for Campos Racing in the European F3 Open at the start. He was fourth overall with three wins. In addition, he competed for several teams to two events in the GP3 Series.

2013 moved Regalia completely in the GP3 Series and received a cockpit at ART Grand Prix, the champion team of the preseason. After he had no points in the season opener, he did not reach in the next race only once the points. At the Nürburgring he won the feature race. Regalia went as overall leader in the last race weekend of the season. In this he remained without points of their achievement in the overall standings behind Daniil Kwjat. Regalia defeated him by 138 to 168 points and was second overall.

2014 goes Regalia for Hilmer Motorsport in the GP2 series at the start. After the first race weekend, he finished 24th overall. In addition, he has been developing driver in Formula 1 racing team Force India.

Others

At the age of eight years Regalia and his family moved to Madrid. Before he was active in motorsports, he played in a youth football team Real Madrid.

Regalia was launched at the beginning of his career with Spanish racing license. Since 2010 he takes with an Argentine license.
