Gambolò

Gambolò is a northwestern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9834 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Pavia in Lombardy. The municipality is situated approximately 24 km west-northwest west of the Ticino Pavia in Parco Lombardo Valle del Ticino. The municipality is located in the eastern Lomellina, a part of the Po Valley. Through the community of Terdoppio flows.

History

The village is mentioned as 999 Gambolatum and from 1250 to the present name. By 1000 even the castell still partially preserved is built.

Traffic

The community lies with the breakpoint Gambolò - remondo on the railway line Vercelli, Pavia.

Community partnerships

Gambolò maintains partnerships with the Greek Kyrros (now part of Pella ) in Central Macedonia and with the Latvian community Mālpils.
