Gréning
Gréning ( German: Greningen ) is a commune of 140 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Forbach and Canton Grostenquin.
Geography
The village is located in the northeast of Lorraine, about 20 kilometers south of the border town of Freyming -Merlebach.
History
The town was first mentioned in 1337 as Grenange. Other names were Grumingen (1594 ), Gremingen ( 1606), and Gréning (1751 ).
