Hartberg Umgebung is a municipality with 2175 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the judicial district Fürstenfeld and in the political district of Hartberg - Fürstenfeld in the southeast of Austria.

Geography

Geographical Location

Hartberg area is located in eastern Styria Joglland in the transition to the hills of Eastern Styria. The community is located about 3 km southwest of the district capital of Hartberg and about 40 km northeast of the provincial capital of Graz.

The municipality is in the south of Dombach, a tributary of the Hartberger Untersafen, and to the east by Schildbach, a tributary of the Dombachs, flow-through, sharing the drainage of the community. Your confluence is located at already in the nearby town of book -St. Magdalena.

To the west of Hartberg borders around the Pöllauer valley. In the north are the two highest elevations, the Anne Kogel (860 m) and the Wullmenstein ( 867 m).

The district Schildbach has grown together with the neighboring village of Hartberg.

Hartberg environment consists of six local villages and twelve districts (population as at 15 May 2001):

  • The cadastral Flatten village has 673 inhabitants. It is located in the west of the municipality and shall be composed of the districts Flatten village, floodplain and Santa Anna.
  • Spoon Bach is the largest cadastral with 702 inhabitants. It lies in the north of the parish and is composed of the districts spoon Bach, Löffelberg, Neuberg and book Mountain / Hecker mountain.
  • The cadastral Mitterdombach has 128 inhabitants and is situated in the center of the village. It has no other districts.
  • The cadastral Schildbach is the administrative center of the municipality. Schildbach is located in the east of the municipality and has 402 inhabitants. There are no other districts.
  • Untersiebenbrunn is the southernmost Katastralgemeinde. It has 124 inhabitants and no other districts.
  • The cadastral Wenireith has 109 inhabitants and is the smallest. It is located in the south of the municipal area and is made up of the districts Wenireith and Totterfeld.

Structures

  • The Villa Rustica in the district spoon Bach is a Roman country house from the 2nd and 3rd centuries. The basic well-preserved walls were uncovered in the years 1961-1963 and preserved. From 1992 to 2002, the ruins were restored.
  • The castle at the foot of Neuberg ring Kogels is also in the district spoon Bach and one of the most important fortifications of Styria. It was built in the 12th century. Since the castle is privately owned, it can not be visited.
  • The Gothic St. Anna am Masenberg from the 15th century is located in the same district at the foot of the mountain Masen. Worth seeing are the Gothic side altar in 1522 and the baroque high altar, which was created in 1758.

Traffic

The change Straße (B 54) from Hartberg to track village leads through the eastern municipality where it runs only in Schildbach through the town. A little further east extends outside the municipal area, the South A 2 motorway from Vienna to Graz. She can be reached in about 6 km above the junction Hartberg (115).

The municipality has no rail connection. The nearest train station is in Hartberg in about 4 km away. It provides access to its thermal lift with two hourly regional train connections to Vienna and Fehring.

Coat of arms

The municipal coat of arms is out since 1 July 1989. Blazon: "In a black, sprinkled with golden vine leaves plate, a golden wolf. "

The Barons of Neuberg, whose castle is in the municipal area, led a silver wolf in its coat of arms.
