Geography

Geographical Location

Siegersdorf at Herbersteins located in the district of Hartberg - Fürstenfeld approximately 17 kilometers southwest of the district capital of Hartberg and about 45 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital of Graz. Winner village is located south of the Feistritzwerke, which forms the border with the neighboring community Stubenberg in the Northeast. On the opposite shore here is the castle Herbersteins that is mentioned in the suffix.

Expansion of the municipal district

The municipal area stretches along the northern edge of the hill country of eastern Styria mainly on the eastern foothills of the 976 m high Kulm, is not located in the municipality itself, but about a mile west of it. Thus, the area falls of about 800 m above sea level. A. in the west to about 440 m above sea level. A. from the Feistritzwerke in the east. Here the distinctive incised Feistritzklamm forms a forested and unpopulated border belt. In the north the municipality extends to within a few meters closer to the Stubenbergsee forms from which the Kulmbach the border to Stubenberg. Flora

On the rocks of the vulture wall and on those of the Kranzerls against the Feistritzklamm grow two rare plant species: the Hauswurz and especially the Herbersteinprimel or Steinveigerl (Latin primula villosa var commutata ). It blooms in the spring of each year and their stock is secured by the Nature Conservation Act.

Clubs

Many residents of the community are members of parish associations such as the Musikverein and Kameradschaftsbund of Sankt Johann in Herbersteins. Very active cultural society. Under the name of winner villages Cultural Feast " Enjoy with all senses" is a concert performed annually since its founding in 2004.

  • The Association Wine Trail was instrumental in the establishment of a wine trail hiking trail. Natural Monuments

The east of the township offers the viewpoint vultures wall, which offers a beautiful view of the Stubenberger pool, and the Feistritzklamm named in this section near the castle Herbersteins also Herber Steinklamm, two sights. Within a radius of ten kilometers there is no Railway Station.

Graz Airport is about 45 km away.

Established businesses

Siegersdorf at Herbersteins has predominantly farms. In the village Hofer mountain almost exclusively wine production.

Education

In the municipality there is no school. The competent elementary school is located in Sankt Johann in Herbersteins in about three kilometers away.

Tourism

Siegersdorf at Herbersteins is a member of the tourist region of Apple Country- room mountain.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 June 1998. Blazon (Coat of Arms description): " In one of blue and red with a golden vine with four leaves and three grapes left diagonally divided shield with a golden lion rückgewendetem, but herschauendem head."
