Ivanteyevka, Moscow Oblast

Iwantejewka (Russian Ивантеевка ) is a town in Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is located 41 km north-east of Moscow and has 58 626 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

History

Iwantejewka was first mentioned as Wantejewo in 1586th Originally, the village belonged to the Trinity Monastery of St. Sergius. In the 16th century, was built near the present city of the first paper mill in Russia. Since then, the place was regarded as an important center for paper production. Economy and Transport

The most popular operating Iwantejewkas is the textile factory Iwantejewski Trikotasch, founded in 1875, and there is in place two more textile companies. Furthermore, a paper factory, a factory for the manufacture of equipment for the food industry, a bread and a furniture factory on site working.

The city is located near the highway M8 and is connected across a busy commuter trains of branch line from the Trans-Siberian Railway to the railway network of the Moscow Oblast.

Other attractions Iwantejewkas include the Church of Our Lady of Smolensk from 1808 as well as an arboretum, which was created in 1933.
