Kirschkau
Kirschkau is a municipality in the Thuringian Saale- Orla-Kreis. It is located in the Thuringian Slate Mountains and belongs to the administrative community lakes.
Neighborhood
Adjacent communities are Göschitz, Löhma and the city Schleiz in Saale- Orla-Kreis and the city Zeulenroda district Greiz.
Geography
Through the municipal area leads the federal highway 94 connects Schleiz and Zeulenroda and the adjacent places.
Geology
Geologically, the landscape in the East Thuringian Slate Mountains on a plateau. Its soils have a high proportion of fine soil and a high humus content.
History
Kirschkau was registered first documented on 25 November 1335. 1407 Peter and Paul church was mentioned for Kirschkau. This church was demolished in 1751 and built the present church of Jesus at the same Srelle. It was designated as one of the best churches in the 18th century Thuringia. The farmers of the village went to 1945, the way the East German agriculture.
